The first hours decide how bad this gets
Water does not sit still. It wicks up drywall, runs along the top plate, and gets under cabinets and subfloor where you cannot see it. A puddle in the hallway usually means water in three rooms.
That is why we take moisture readings before we move anything. Drying what you can see and missing what you cannot is how a water loss becomes a mold job six weeks later.
Drying is a measurement, not a guess
A floor can feel dry and still be holding enough moisture to grow mold underneath. We set equipment based on the size of the affected area and the class of water, then check readings every day and log them.
We pull equipment when the numbers say the structure is dry, not when the schedule says the job should be over.

Most water damage companies dry the house and hand you a list of contractors for the repairs. We hold a B general building classification on the same license as our plumbing, so the drywall, flooring, cabinets and paint are handled by the same company that dried it.

A tech locates where the water came from and stops it. Because we are plumbers, that repair usually happens the same visit.

Water comes out, equipment goes in, and we log moisture readings every day until the structure reads dry.

Drywall, flooring, paint and fixtures put back, under the same license and the same crew you already know.

How fast do I need to act?
Quickly. Mold can start growing in wet building materials within about 24 to 48 hours under the right conditions. The sooner extraction and drying start, the less material has to come out.
Will my insurance cover this?
That depends on your policy and on what caused the loss. Sudden and accidental events like a burst pipe are commonly covered. Damage from a leak that went on for months often is not. We document everything thoroughly so your adjuster has what they need to make the call.
Do you handle the insurance claim for me?
We handle the documentation, which is the part that decides most claims: dated photos before anything moves, moisture readings room by room, daily drying logs, and an itemized scope. We are contractors, not public adjusters, so we cannot negotiate the claim on your behalf. In California that requires a public adjuster license.
How long does drying take?
Most residential jobs run three to five days, but it depends on how much water there was, what materials got wet, and how much of it is inside walls or under flooring. We check readings daily and tell you where things stand.
Do I have to move out?
Usually not. It depends on how much of the house is affected and whether the water was clean or contaminated. We will tell you honestly after we see it.
Will you tear out my floors?
Only what has to come out. A lot of flooring can be dried in place with the right equipment. We remove material when the readings say it cannot be saved, and we show you the readings.
