Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you submit the contact form on this website, we collect what you type into it:

• Your name
• Your phone number, which is required so we can call you back
• Your email address, if you choose to give one
• The service you selected, if you selected one
• Whatever you write in the message field

Along with your submission, our server automatically records the page you submitted the form from and your browser's user agent string. We use those to understand which pages generate enquiries and to identify automated spam.

If you call us instead, we have whatever you tell us on the phone and the number you called from.

2. What we do not collect

Being specific here is more useful than a generic disclosure, so:

• This website runs no analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no Google Tag Manager, no Meta Pixel and no comparable tracking on any page.
• We set no advertising or tracking cookies of our own.
• We do not build advertising profiles from your visit.
• We do not collect payment details through this website.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

If that changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live.

3. How we use it

• To call or contact you back about the work you asked about
• To schedule, dispatch and complete that work
• To answer questions and handle follow-up or warranty service
• To keep records we are required to keep for our contractor licence, insurance and tax obligations
• To detect and block automated spam submissions

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

4. Phone calls and text messages

Giving us your phone number through this website means you are asking us to contact you about your enquiry. We may do that by phone call or by text message, because on an emergency job a text is sometimes the fastest way to confirm an address or an arrival time.

Those messages are about your service request. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages from this website's form, and we would need your separate express consent before doing so.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time by telling us, or by replying STOP to a text.

5. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run this website and handle enquiries. They process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

• Vercel, which hosts this website and serves it to your browser.
• Supabase, where form submissions are stored so a request does not get lost.
• An email and workflow provider, which delivers the alert that tells us a new enquiry has arrived.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim, including in connection with an insurance claim you have asked us to document.

6. The map in our footer

Every page of this site includes a Google Maps embed in the footer showing where our shop is. That map is loaded from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies when the map loads, whether or not you interact with it.

That is Google's processing rather than ours, and it is governed by Google's own privacy policy. We mention it because it is the only third-party content on this site and most privacy policies leave it out.

7. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet the record-keeping obligations that come with holding a California contractor licence, carrying insurance and filing taxes. Where a job involved an insurance claim, we generally keep the documentation longer, because it may be needed later. You can ask us to delete your information and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

8. How we protect it

Form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection and written to a database that is not publicly readable. Access is restricted to the people who need it to do the work.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we are not going to claim otherwise. Please do not send us sensitive information such as financial account numbers or government identifiers through the website form.

9. Your California privacy rights

California residents may ask us to do the following in relation to personal information we hold about them:

• Tell you what categories of personal information we have collected and why
• Give you a copy of that information
• Correct information that is inaccurate
• Delete it, unless we are required to keep it
• Not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
